Will the liberal “free” health care plan be as incompetent as the liberal leadership?

Paul asked the question:

Libs, imagine you need a critical surgery to continue living…say brain surgery (excuse the pun). Anyways, you know that this type of surgery is risky — if the doctor goofs you could be a vegetable (more so than your current state) essentially ending your life. Fortunately, the worlds most experienced doctors are available for the task. These doctors not only have advanced education and training in the area of brain surgery, they have also performed countless successful surgeries. Now some clown comes out of left field. He has the word “CHANGE” painted on his t-shirt. He promises he can do the job better than the doctors with experience. He has never performed a surgery before, has less qualifications than a graduate student just starting into the medical field. Who do you choose?

Remember, the choice you make is permanent. It determines whether your life continues or ends. You notice one of the real doctors is asian. You don’t like asians because you feel the US is becoming too reliant on China. However, this guy wearing the “CHANGE” t-shirt is black. You’re not a racist, like 99.9% of the people in the world, so you decide to prove this by choosing the black guy wearing the “CHANGE” t-shirt.

And that pretty much sums up the election.

The moral of this question is, if the left is willing to settle for incompetent leadership, what sort of medical treatment are they willing to make taxpayers pay for? It’s going to be a 5hit solution no matter how nice Obama tries to make it sound.

There’s no such thing as liberal free health care nor they ever devised this idea.

Agreed — do we need to point out Medicare/Medicaid is in the hole for 40 billion dollars? Skillfully managed like all government programs!!!!

    When will people learn??

interesting analagy………you might be on to something..

Will H sums up beautifully why this Barrachus Experiment isn’t going to work…….”we won” is all they can think about…..Being losers so long has warped their brains.

Liberals can’t be incompetent, we WON, remember. What will First Lady Cindy McCain be wearing to the Inaugeration? Oh that’s right. Never mind.

Only losers supported the treason of the last eight years and let one man destroy the global economy.

Why don’t you instead of imagining scenarios , you look up UHC and see exactly what its mandates would be.

Who has said it was going to free? I haven’t heard that. I know they are talking about controlling costs, and stopping the BS, you know, like the way Bush refused to let the Gov’t demand a better price for prescription drugs–all because the drug lobby was paying him off.

Ermm… maybe you saw a different Obama speech that I missed, but I don’t remember him outlining his plans for letting people with the word change start doing brain surgery… the same doctors would be doing the same medical work, except instead of being paid only by people with greedy HMOs to do what they say is or is not elective surgery, more people will be getting medical services through universal care… if anything, doctors will be in greater demand, make more money, and will attract even more qualified students to pursue medical school. So your analogy is based on some strange scenario you made up and not plausible at all.

I’ve never heard anyone but dimwitted cons calling it “free.”

Well if things DON’T change in here I might have to go for that surgery to say Cuba, where their doctors are amazing or maybe Costa Rica which ranks above us in health care or India or Mexico as many Americans have do today because it would be cheaper and just as good.

I already had eye surgery in Mexico with wonderful results. My husband had it in Canada and we had to go to Denmark for hearing aids.

Yes socialized medicine is terrible all you have to do is look at newspaper articles from Canada, France, and England to see what we will be living throught. Socialized medicine is so bad that both France and England are looking to go to a system like ours. There is a reason that no medical advances come from countries that have Socialized medicine.

There was a story recently about a Canadian woman who had to fly to the US to deliver he baby because there was a 10 month wait to see an OB/GYN in Canada!

Do you really want the same clowns who brought us the mortgage and economic crisis in charge of your healthcare?!

If you think healthcare is expensive now wait until it is free!

Its’ not a liberal or right wing issue- its’ a human one. I now pay through the nose for coverage, my life savings are getting wiped out- what kind of a shite country is this while the wealthy cheat and steal us blind. Please wake up.

How do you know this will be an incompetent president? This is only your opinion. There were a lot of people who had a different opinion and so they voted for Obama. Get over it. I didn’t vote for GWB either but I have lived through it, at least to this point. I don’t consider him very competent even after watching him for all these years. Give the man a chance. One thing is sure, we really don’t have a very good health system now unless you have the money to pay for it.

Do you realize what good insurance the government has? Do you know it is paid for by our taxes. Do you think you would get the same treatment as Ted Kennedy did recently or even as quick. It seems politicians lives are more important than yours and mine. Wonder if they have a big deductible? Do you think they pay any part of the insurance? Isn’t that the same thing as Welfare?

  14. Laura on April 7th, 2009 10:21 am

Let’s say you need brain surgery to live…but..oops..you’re uninsured.

Or better yet…you ARE insured, but your insurance company says that it’s “experimental”

    Now what?

HAHAHA iceT what a bunch of lies that is. the british people will never want health care that you pay for nor will the government ever take away that human right of theirs to free health care. so stop making lies up. UHC is great. ive used it many times living in the UK and now Australia and dont have any complaints.

    US = life costs money
Every other country in the industrilised world = life is universal and no amount of oney changes that.

thanks for the laugh. the UK, europe, canada, australia, japan, new zealand etc will never get rid of free health care i can promise you that

Until then, I ‘ll just vacation in Canada if I get too sick to cure myself with vitamins and healthful foods. Otherwise, I guess I’ll just get my affairs in order and wait…

There are other options besides “dumbing down” medical care. It just takes rearranging priorities and making sure that people who need medical care have access to it.

I am in favor of relieving businesses of the burden of having to subsidize medical insurance. I am also in favor of making the costs of medical care fully deductible from all income taxes. I am also in favor of those sources of toxic lifestyles paying 100% of the costs of medical care for their victims.
