Army 68 Whiskey?

ultragermkiller asked the question:

Ok, I asked a question regarding my army job in W68 and got many helpful answers that gave me ideas about what’s going on. And this time, I am asking this question to clarify.

I am going to army next summer (I can’t quit cuz I already went through all the process including oath) and my job is W68 which is health care specialist. And my ASI is airborne school. My recruiter told me that if I am in top 10% of the class at health care training, I would have a chance to go to nursing school, and then after I finish nursing school, I would go to airborne school as it was planned.

Is that true?

Nursing school is not guaranteed on my contract, but is it true that I have a chance to go there?

How can Americans survive with out health care?

bluechristy12 asked the question:

I have either worked as an employee or owned my own bussiness all of my life (since 13 years old ). And I am now 55.
As a emploryer I had to train my help in design . I valued the people that worked for me. I tryed to pay them well. Yet I could not afford to give them health care ins . Nor did I have health insurance myself. I paid quartly taxes on my bussiness and other taxes as well. Then three majors crisis hit me at once .My husband suffered a major stroke and died six months later. The economy took a big nose dive. And now I suffer from a major health condition. I had to apply for state Medicaid .
It took over a year to get these benifits. My point is this -we need the people that work for us . We need our working people in this country to be stronge and healthy . Medicaid functions well. I have no complaints. If something like national health care does not happen then I believe this country will fall into decay.

Prisoner care verses citizen care?

Kat asked the question:

Today our government spends billions of dollars in health care and education for incurarated convicts while in prision yet law abiting citizens and their children go without needed health care and education or job training beyond high school. Why does our government worry more about prisoner care of convicted murders and sex offenders than the care of it’s struggling poor families within the USA? If education is the key to reform wouldn’t it be the key in prevention? Who deserves needed health care more, convicted prisoners or struggling law abiting citizens?
Todays prisoners do not eat stale bread, they get well balanced meals and yes they have TV. They also have a Doctor who works for the prison.

Yes we have public schools but in todays world a high school education is not enough to get a job thats pays more than min. wage, anymore education must be paid for. The average “poor” family can not afford the thousands of dollars it cost to further their childs education.

How can we teach the carers to actually care?

hooverhumper22 asked the question:

I am looking into methods involving theatre processes to train mental health support workers. There is an “old school” culture within the system (UK) which is a form of bullying. I believe it occurs as a result of workers not understanding the nature of empathy. My task is to facilitate the opening of closed minds. I am aware that this is a mammoth task, but if mental health stigma is to be eradicated, then it must be eradictated firstly with in the system which provides the care.
If anyone has any thoughts on this I would be glad to hear them.

If you would like to maintain correspondence, then get in touch by e-mail, I will be glad to hear all stories and opinions from either side of the fence which we are attempting to knock down.

Do you trust legislators writing a health plan or should they just monitor plans and have no personal interest

?????? asked the question:

Why is it fair for legislators to have unlimited health care without paying tax or co-pays, yet they pass rules to limit health care of tax payers?
Medicare eligibility for assistance with nursing home payments requires that a patient be admitted three times for over night care, otherwise patient will be responsible for full payment of nursing home stay.
Yet in 1994, legislation was passed to give senators unlimited health care for the rest of their life at tax payers expense and freedom to not pay taxes for social security and Medicare (FICA taxes).
1)Isn’t it unfair and somehow unconstitutional for legislators to be in charge of their pay and benefits while passing medical bills that limit care to those who paid taxes?
2)Before 1994 senators, VP and the president collected social security and Medicare. Did the American people vote for this?
3)Are all or any legislators specially educated or trained in health care making them experts to pass eligibility rules rather than monitoring insurances to assure all are constitutionally fair?
4)In a life time an average person working 45 years will pay an average of $120,000 in FICA taxes and an additional $290,000 in insurance premium co-pays. A percentage of people die before ever using Medicare benefits. Why is it fair to limit healthcare for tax payers and not our legislators and president. (Did Clinton’s multiple heart surgeries leave the Clintons in financial ruin?)
5)Do you trust legislation to write a policy for everyone? Or would you prefer legislation monitor all health insurances for fairness and reliability?
PS: Homegirl, should tax payers be flipping the entire medical bills for politicians and their families while being denied basic care for oursleves?

Health care career question?

Nicole S asked the question:

Can you get a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography(ultrashound tech)? Around here there are places like Sanford Brown, and its too expensive and dosnt offer certification at the end of training. The other option that I have found is an associate degree program at the community college which takes two years but the problem with that is i already have some college done, and Im wanting to keep going. I really dont want to start all over. Someday I would like to become a doctor or pharmacist…im just exploring my options right now!

Nicole,

So do you really think some sort of government funded health care plan is the way to go ala Obama?

Big Cazzo asked the question:

So people have health insurance… now whos gonna treat em?

http://health.yahoo.com/news/reuters/us_doctors_usa_survey.html

Many doctors plan to quit or cut back: survey

Couple of snippets…

The survey adds to building evidence that not enough internal medicine or family practice doctors are trained or practicing in the United States, although there are plenty of specialist physicians

Health care reform is near the top of the list of priorities for both Congress and president-elect Barack Obama, and doctor’s groups are lobbying for action to reduce their workload and hold the line on payments for treating Medicare, Medicaid and other patients with federal or state health insurance.

Actually yes, i DID read it, if you had any sort of reading COMPREHENSION, that was a blurb from a few, and not the general consensius.
nor does it mean it will decrease their workload.

try READING the whole thing yourselves.

Do cons like to sit in a train next to a person with TB because the illegal alien has no health insurance?

Nick K asked the question:

Many illegal immigrants don’t have health insurane and can not afford medical care. But their health problems don’t affect only themselves because theyr don’t live in isolation. If you ride in a train or a subway next to a person with an open form of tuberculosis, then you will catch the disease as well. The same goes for STDs. Isn’t it better to provide them with medical care?
